4. Create and Manage Cloud Z DB Namespace

4.1. Namespace Create

A Namespace is a logical unit used to partition a cluster.

It is typically created per project phase or per service.

Example:

  • When created per project phase: Development, Staging, Production
  • When created per service: Authentication Service, Payment Service, Reservation Service, etc.

The Namespace creation and management feature is only accessible to Cloud Z DB platform administrators with 'cluster-admin' privileges.

4.1.1. Access Cloud Z CP Portal

Access Cloud Z CP Portal and log in by entering your ID and password.

4.1.2. Select Administration

Click the Administration menu at the top left of the page.

To create a Namespace for Cloud Z DB, make sure the ZDB Namespace is set to  ON.

Resource Quotas allocate appropriate resources based on the cluster size.

If there are no special requirements, set them as follows:

  • Resource Quotas
    • Memory:  Requested size
    • CPU:
      • Memory 14G 이하 - Memory의 1/4
      • Memory 14G 이상 - Memory의 1/2
    • Other Resources: 100
  • Pod Default Limit Range

    • Memory: 0

    • CPU: 0

(warning) Warning: If Pod Default Limit Range is not set to 0, the DB service cannot be created.

*Requests and Limits for CPU and Memory must be set to the same value.
